This is funny if you’re reasonably broad minded. I’ve been through a period of stress lately and it was good to laugh at this. Try putting in the names of a few people you know.
Normal service will resume as soon as I figure out what’s normal.
Cheers
Nigel
I hope the stress demons in your life soon take a vacation, Nigel.
You’re right. This site is a hoot!
I moved this post to my Nifty News folder to explore after I complete the first draft of my novel. You may or may not know that I am a shiny-bauble-chasing
maniacprocrastinator.Must. Stay. On. Task.
Hi Gloria. Yep, stay on track ๐ That site will be around for a long time.
Cheers!
too fricking funny, Nigel. especially when I put in my boss’ name. LOL
Louise, you’re a genius! I put my friends names in but I never though about my boss. Dang, I’m slow.better not do this at work though ๐
Cheers!
Haha!
Aww, have you been having a tough time? Hope you feel better soon.
Hi CC. Everything’s getting back to normal. I see Rosie’s running ๐
Cheers!
I was wondering where you were—I was starting to worry! I’m very happy to see you posting again, Nigel, even if it’s just a brief one. I hope your period of stress is over soon, stress kind of sucks. Thanks for the link — it made me giziggle.
Hi Madame. Yep, back to usual (but not normal). I see you revealed your true self, and rats, I was only one picture away ๐
Cheers!
I just had to gizoogle myself. Hope I don’t go blind.
But I’m definitely going to adopt their new tagline for my blog: Diane Hendaz: Bangin mah mid-life crisis!
And their version of my post about orange plastic palm trees sounds pretty much like something I’d write:
“Okay, I just have ta say dat sh**. What tha f*** iz it wit brightly coloured plastic …” (Euphemistic asterisks substituted for the benefit of your G-rated audience.)
I was also excited to learn about your secret career as lead vocal and guitar for the rock band Half Man Half Biscuit, though frankly, the photo doesn’t do you justice.
Welcome back – hope all is well with you now. Rock on! ๐
Hi Diane
Yeah, it does generate some fairly believable for your name! As for the other Nigel Blackwell, I’ll just say that I spent some of my life being referred to as either biscuit or half-man Blackwell. And you’re right, the photo’s don’t do me justice, for some reason they just don’t seem to resemble me at all. Curious.
Cheers!
Hmm. That is funny.
Happy Holidays Nigel and in fact Happy Holidays to all bloggers of good will.
Hi Holmes. Bayard and Holmes turned out pretty well on gizoogle, though no doubt your editor wouldn’t approve of the grammar! Best wishes for Christmas, the New Year, and everything between and either side (hopefully that covers most eventualities).
At long last Hurricanes and Spitfires are coming to fruition! It just took time to find the obscure.
Cheers!
Hi Nigel. I’m guessing that you have read Deighton’s book as well as Townsend’s (and likely a lot more).
The development of the Spitfire and the Hurricane are both fascinating bits of history. I am very much looking forward to your articles. My mind can imagine a Merlin engine roaring up a wet runway somewhere in 11 Group.
